State Fair

Found some old pict on my phone from the state fair

Three pups in a tub

Missing mommy

Adam sent me this text and pic during my Jazzercise meeting sat :-(
"He has been crying for his mommy since he got up from nap. About 15 min"

The baby

Some of the things Carter does would have been BIG no, no’s in the boy’s days. I will be the first to admit and my mom is quick to point out I am way more laid back. Plus Carter being the baby does not help. And that whole ‘baby’… the last one, is totally true. He totally has me wrapped around his finger. Anyhow today I was on the phone and I needed some paper out of the desk, but Carter was sitting there and he knew he was not allowed. He thought I was going to get him down and every time I walked close to get the paper and pointed his finger and said ‘NO, GO’ with his eyebrows scrunched together. I know that is SOOOOOO VERY rotten, but it was so stinkin’ cute.

Happy Anniversary

Our 6th anniversary was spent traveling all over Cincinnati with the fam looking at new cars. But not just any car. How about a Volvo WAGON for daddy!!!! This is the car I wanted and when I suggested it he said that was fine – really???? This was explained later during a test drive. I asked him, ‘so what do you think?’ He said as long as I liked it he was happy. Really, am I that bad – ha! Anyhow, we were laughing that we spent our anniversary buying a station wagon and we totally enjoyed it and love the new car!!! We are actually celebrating in a few weeks - we have concert tickets.

Bye Bye Cribs

Just about a week ago Carter spent the last night of his crib days wondering the halls. He figured out how to get out of his crib a few weeks ago, but I was not as quick to move him as I was Aidan and Aaron. Once the boys figured it out it was just a big game to get in and out, so they were in the toddler beds right away. Once Carter figured it out the only time he would really get out was when he would wake up in the morning. It is so cute to hear the little pitter-patter down the hallway and then look over to see Carter with passie, giraffe and blanket in hand standing at the doorway. After the night of him getting out about 10 times I decided it was time. So up went the toddler bed. He is really doing SOOO great. We just lay him down, he does like to have a book to look at and the music box on, and we usually don’t hear a peep out of him until the morning. He is always the first one up. This morning we were woken by Aidan yelling ‘Mom, Carter’s in our room,’ followed by, ‘Mom, Carter is on top of the dresser.’

School Days

We had parent’s night at St. Paul a few weeks ago. This is a really tough year for me because I cannot get it out of my head that they are going to kindergarten next year. I thought I just brought these babies home from the hospital. The other day a reached down to hold Aaron’s hand and I realized I did not really have to reach anymore. I know everyone always says they grow up so fast, but I did not realize just how true that is. Enough of that.
This is their second year at St. Paul so we kinda new what to expect. It was very funny when she was going over the jobs and she said line leader was the most popular job. I so remember when I was little always wanting to be the line leader – too funny. They have another frog similar to Sam the Bear. The one that spends the weekend with you and you write about it. Like I need more things to babysit – ha! New this year they have a star of the week. Mrs. Epping has a display board for photos and special items that each student gets to bring in on their week. It is exciting because this is very much an individual activity for the boys – we like those!

NAP TIME

We went to the museum today – the kids played pretty hard and were very tired. Carter did not even want to eat lunch when he got home. He went in his room and got his sleep gear – blankie, passie, and giraffe. He walked into the kitchen and put his arms up and I took him right to bed. The boys are very hit and miss on nap. Today they got in bed fine but they were sooooo chatty. After a few times of hushing them, I went to their room and said if I heard a voice again they were going to be in big trouble. As I was walking out Aaron said, “come on Aidan, lets just go to sleep now.” I did not hear another word out of them and everyone is sleeping now - go Aaron!!!

PARTY TIME

No secrets - I have a HUGE obsession with the birthdays. I have been going back and forth trying to decide our house or somewhere else. I am just not satisfied having a little party at the house - gotta have more. Last year we rented a bouncer for Carter's party - that was a blast. We had already decided to have the boys party somewhere else this year.
So long story short here is what we have booked. Carter's party is going to be at Gymboree in Louisville. It is a music, arts, craft and play gym that caters to infants to 5 year olds. The boys decided on Puzzles Fun Dome, we have it booked for Dec 12th. And guess what theme they had!?!?!!? POWER RANGERS. The lady probably thought I was crazy when she was reading down the theme list and she came to the Power Ranger - I could not help but shout 'that's it'. Needless to say the boys (and I) are super excited. They asked me if I could make them a birthday count down calendar. I am going to get a list from school to help them decide what school friends to invite. This will be the first party that they actually get to pick the guests - should be fun!!! As for Carter's guest list - well, all you mommies with little ones - mark you calendar!!!

Morning pooper

The other night we were getting the boys ready for bed. Night time routine is I monitor the bathroom and brush teeth. Adam reads then I come in and sing songs. Oh and we cannot forget that Adam has to hide under the covers while we are brushing. Same thing EVERY night, but every night they think it is so funny. Ahyhow - poop and pee is a must before be or it never fails the second they get in bed they will have to go. I said Aidan did you go poop and pee he said he peed. I said you need to poop. He looked at me with the straightest face and said "Mom, I'm a morning pooper. I could not stop laughing.

Not already!?!?!?!!?

Tonight we were setting up our fall village. The boys patiently waited (well as much as can be expected out of 4 year olds) to help set it up. All the sudden I heard Carter's door shut. I was standing on top of the table decorating so I asked the boys to run in there and sure enough he was out of his bed. I picked him up and asked him if he climbed out and he said "yes" (new word for him - SOOO cute). The boys learned to climb out of their beds at 18 months and it took a good year for them to stay in the toddler bed ALL night. I am really not looking forward to the transition. Since he is such a good sleeper and goes down so easily I am hoping this is just a one time thing... for now at least.
