Can I really call this a vacation...

Well I am leaving tomorrow for Cancun with my sister Michelle and her friend.  I am being a good big sister and taking her on her senior spring break.  Sounded good last year when I offered, and I thought I would be ok to leave.  Well here we are the day before and I am already counting down the days until I will be back home.  The only time I have left the boys was to have Carter.  They spent the night once with my mom a few months ago and I was pacing the floor waiting for them to get back.  I keep telling myself it will not get any better if I don't ever leave, but then I think why do I ever have to leave.  Adam and I already decided a weekend trip away together would be ok, but we just don't have the desire to do anything longer than that without the boys.
You see when all of these perfect little boys came into my life they taught me what life was all about.  With them my life is perfect and nothing else matters.  So why would I was to get away from that???

Lost teeth

The boys and I were eating lunch today at Quiznos and a few minutes into eating the boys said "mom, there are teeth on the floor."  What???  Sure enough I looked down and there were a pair of dentures right under our table.  Not the most appetizing thing in the world.  The boys just thought it was the funniest thing ever.  I tried to avoid the conversation since we were eating, but I could not help but wonder how in the world they got there - I mean who just leaves their teeth behind.  Well about 1/2 into lunch the owner came to retrieve them.  I was just embarrassed as she was because the boys were asking her why she let here teeth there.

Bedtime TV with daddy

The boys thought it was so funny that daddy had a robe too

I want to be just like my big brothers

Can we stay outside FOREVER...

A little competition is good for them

Today we were trying to get ready to go to the store. Dad had already left for work, I was getting Carter dressed and the boys were not cooperating. I called them into Carter's room and I said - OK, whoever gets dresses first gets a treat. All they had to hear was treat and they were off. I had to laugh at myself because one (of the many) books on twins specifically said avoid creating competition between the twins. Ha, well - you gotta do what you gotta do. I think I have done about 75% of the 'I would never' as a parent, but that is a whole other story.
Anyhow, the boys are off getting dressed I hear lots of yelling, like "I want to wear those and those are mine." Then I hear Aaron yelling at Aidan to quit taking his pants off. I yell at Aidan to pick a different pair. Aidan said "no, I want to win." Aidan was literally pulling Aaron's pants off so he would not win and screaming hysterically. Had to hold back the laughs while telling Aidan to get off Aaron. And if you are wondering who got the treat - both because I could not handle another meltdown.

Bowling

We went bowling this week on our day off. Adam and I laughed so hard because at some points the ball was rolling so slowly we thought it was going to stop 1/2 way down the lane. Needless to say we only played one game and it lasted a REALLY long time!!!

Carter watching nicely from the stroller, but it did not last long - ha

I've gotta pee mom!!!

Here is your answer

So the #1 question we get about the twins is 'are they alike'. So here is your answer.
Aaron - heels and my headband
Aidan - the soldier

And this one is for Daddy

I am not ready

So I am starting to see an end to Aidan and Aaron's afternoon nap. For the past few week Aaron has been saying at nap that he is just going to rest, but not closes his eyes. And that is what he usually does. He will lay in bed as quiet as can be (he falls asleep about one out of two naps). Carter usually wakes up shortly after the boys go down, so I let Aaron up to play quietly. They told me a few months back that Aaron does not nap all that often at school.

Well.... the past few days Aidan has not been napping either. Today I went to check on them three different time and Aidan was playing in the corner of the room and he told me 'to get out of his room, he already went to sleep.' Mr. Attitude! Aaron just laid in bed like normal.

I am not ready for them to give up nap. That is kinda my regrouping/rest time. I could feel by the end of the day I was getting very short with the boys. I told them they could not skip nap anymore because it make mommy kind of a mean mommy, They both looked oat me shook their heads and said 'ok mommy.' They can make you loose your mind on minute and melt you heart the next.

And here I sit at the end of the day tired beyond belief glad the house is quiet, but I cannot wait to do it all again tomorrow. The boys put a smile on my face just thinking about them. The good, the bad, the loud, the moments I think I am going to loose my mind... I would not trade one of them for the world. Those boys are absolutely the joy of the life!!!

Daylight savings

Aidan looked out the window tonight at bed and it was still a little light out. He asked "is it daylight save time." Too funny.

At least one of them will stay...

I just put the boys to bed and I heard Aaron in his bed crying. I went in to see what was wrong and he said crying "I don't want to be someone else's daddy someday." He continued to say "I want to stay little forever." I said "do you want to stay little and live with mommy forever. He wiped his tears and shook his head yes. He just melted my heart.

Our day

Today was a beautiful day and gave us big time spring fever. This morning daddy took Aidan and Aaron to the library for story time. I am really impressed with the story time library at the Charlestown Library! They read, watch short movies and do a craft and it last about 45 min. Each week had a different theme. This week was lions and last week was monkeys. The best part is it's FREE!!! I stayed home with Carter and we cleaned the closets. Putting away clothes that the boys have outgrown is always so hard for me. It is hard to put Carter's clothes away because that is the last we will see of those clothes. It is hard to get Aidan and Aaron's old clothes out because they are growing too fast. Ok - enough of this - it is way too emotional for me.
We went to 'cook at your table for lunch' today - it has been a while. After, we went to the zoo and rode the train and carrousel. We were on the look out for the new baby giraffe, but he was not out yet. We stopped in the git shop on the way out. Aaron got a bug cage and Aidan got a bug catching kit.
I had to teach Jazzercise tonight - it is starting to seem like I could make this a full time job. Daddy and the boys got to play outside. This will be an interesting summer because we have some serious melt downs X3 when it is time to go inside. I literally had to carry them in kicking and screaming one by one the other day after a bike ride - even Carter.
After baths and putting Carter down the boys and I played Candy Land and ate popcorn. Sometimes I wish I could freeze time and be in moments like this forever.

Spring is here

It is really only the first week of spring and WOW has it been a wild week. Nursery Liquidators has three booths at the home and Garden show this weekend and it is opening weekend at the nursery. Soooooo here comes the crazy schedules. The store is open Thur-Sun so our normal weekends are over. Now Tuesday is our day together until school is out then we will have two days a weeks home together. In a few weeks my schedule will slow down, I am always busy during our slow times and slow during the spring and fall.
Last night we had a little get together at the house with some of daddy's friends. We stayed up way past ALL of our bedtimes so we got a late start today. This morning daddy headed to work and we went to the home show. Mommy wished she had about $100,000 to spend at the show - there were so many cool things! The boys did such a nice job handing out flyers. Aaron told everyone "Hi my name is Aaron, I am four and I will be five next year. This is Carter he is one." Aidan said his name only when asked. He was too busy running from booth to booth - MR. ENERGY.
We went BACK to the show tonight to take more flyers to Papa and meet daddy there after work. On the way there Aidan asked me why I needed that thing (the GPS) to tell me how to get there AGAIN. Thanks Aidan for calling me out on my directional disability. The boys drove home with daddy and Aidan asked him why he did not need one of those things to tell him how to go home.
I ended up having to go into the office on Thursday - normally I do not go in on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The boys went to school and Amanda helped us out with Carter again on short notice. I felt so bad for leaving the kids so I told them I would pick them up early and go to Chucky Cheese. That was totally worth a day at school to them. Aaron kept riding the ride that takes a picture during the ride. By the third time he was posing - it was too funny.
Tomorrow Michelle and Lindsey are babysitting for the day. I have a Jazzercise meeting ALL day and daddy has to work. I hope we have another day like today so the boys can get some outside time.
We love spring, but I will be glad when the first few weeks are over. It seems to happen like this every year. We wish, and wish all winter long for spring, and then it comes and we are like chickens with our heads cut off. And to wrap up the weekend - we loose a VERY valuable hour of sleep tonight :-).

Carter's funny things

Here are some cute and funny things Carter does now. He is obsessed with his applesauce and he does not want help eating it. We just put it in front of him with a spoon and he goes to town. Unfortunately this as far as he gets with dinner and the rest usually goes to waste. Our boys are not big eaters, but they can put down the snacks - hummmmm???

We are finally starting to work with Carter on his body parts - wow are we slackers. He knows where is belly is, but the thinks it is funny to grab his pee-pee when you ask him where his belly is. He can identify his nose and he likes to point to yours right after his. And that is as far as we have gone - come on mom and dad.

Carter likes to sing along, and we do lots of singing. Believe it or not we are still singing Christmas songs. The boys get to pick a song at bedtime and tonight was Rudolf. But Carter just babbles along to the words.

Carter is defiantly the baby. He has to have giraffe, passie and blanket to go to sleep. He still wakes up a few times in the night when he looses his passie. Every time we get him out of bed he has to have all three in with him. During breakfast we usually throw them all back in the crib, but not long after here comes Carter with passie in mouth and giraffe in hand. The only attachment the boys really had was Aaron had a little kitty that he slept with every night. We even had a back up because he was so small he got lost often.

Daddy taught Carter to high five.

Just like the boys he has a shoe obsession. I remember the boys would sit in there room forever taking there shoes on and off. Carter got all of the boys old slippers and he loves them just as much as they did. He loves to put any shoes on - he will bring them to you and grunt until you put them on his feet.

Pri'p'ate areas

There is no such thing as privacy in our house. Half of the doors don't lock because the boys have hung on the door handles so much that they will not properly latch. I always say I want industrial locks and plaster walls. Anyhow I was getting out of the shower and the door opens, as it always does because I cannot have a moment of privacy. Aaron looks up, points at my chest and says is that gray part your 'pripate' (he replaces the v for a p) area. I immediately look down wondering what is gray - then being the mom I must correct him on the color. Then it dawned on me - lets quit talking about my 'pripate' areas and "GET OUT OF HERE." Gotta love those boys.

They are already talking about marriage

A few nights ago at dinner Adam asked Aidan who he was going to marry (they had already had the conversation but he wanted Aidan to repeat it for me). Aidan said Alexis. Now, from what I understand Alexis gets in trouble at school and she is the ONLY child that has gone to Mrs. Lile's office - she talks during nap time. Obviously Aidan is going to like those 'bad girls'.

Aaron did not tell us who he wanted to marry, but he said he did not want to marry (I will withhold names) because she smells. Apparently during nap (in his word) she 'passes gas' (giggle, giggle) and really smells when she wakes up. I am just praying they did not say this to the little girl :-).
