I was looking through photos and realized I never blogged about this year’s Maple Syrup Festival. This is something we have done for the past three years – it is becoming a yearly tradition. It is always FREEZING, and this year was no different. The boys were old enough this year to do the scavenger hunt. When they found all the items they each got a bag of maple cotton candy – ummmm – not!!!! I stuck with the big pancake breakfast with strawberry topping and chocolate fudge for dessert.

Movin' up in life
The boys love sitting at the breakfast bar and you know Carter always wants to be like his brothers. So last weekend Carter got his own stool at the bar. He loves it!!
Easter
We usually travel to Cincy for holidays but this year the family decided to do something different so we enjoyed Easter at our house. Nonnie, Papa and Michelle came over for Easter lunch and an egg hunt.

Vomit
Two stories in this one. Carter had been waking at night early last week. All he wanted was walked back to his room and tucked in. Side note – whatever Carter wants from mama – he gets. He just melts my heart even at 2AM. But as cute as he is, this night waking is not healthy for anyone. So by the third night after walking him to bed three times I was done. I told him he was dealing with a trained professional. I have been there-done-that and we could go all night. It does not bother me one bit to let him cry it out. So 20 min into the cry out session he is standing by the side of my bed and vomits. I scoop him up run to the bathroom… stepping on the vomit on the way. He is throwing up and I am lecturing a two year old that if he just would have stayed in bed we could have avoided all of this. I do believe the “what is said after midnight does not count” rule applies here – ha! The good news is he is back to sleeping all night.
Part two – I thought the Carter vomited because he was so worked up, but apparently we have a stomach bug at our house. Yes I know, not mommy of the year behavior – I feel pretty bad. Anyhow, Adam had to pick Aidan up from school early today because he vomited in the lunchroom. I was so worried he was embarrassed – not sure what age kids start getting embarrassed about this kind of stuff, but he seemed to be ok. Adam was giving me updates on Aidan by text while I was at work. When he complained I reminded him about the vomit between the toes a few night earlier. He was not getting any sympathy form me. Later here was the text I got
Adam: I hope u can never top what I just had to do. Aidan threw up in potty BUTT no pun intended, he blew s#*t, wet, liquid s#*t all over floor and wall. So puke and s#*t all over, nice combo.
Jess: No Daddy - I cannot top that one!!!

Dozer
Dozer is our English bulldog who has lived at the nursery since we moved back from Columbus. We tried to bring him home a few times, but the kids get so excited – it just was more chaos. Anyhow since Adam is not at the nursery now it was time to bring him home. He went to the vet on Friday and the groomer on Sunday. The boys were so excited they could hardly contain themselves. While Dozer was at the groomer we went and got him a new bed and so other doggie essentials. Last night the boys just followed him around everywhere. And Dozer followed me around everywhere – I think he was just as overwhelmed as we were. Anyhow after things clamed down and everyone was in bed Dozer went to sleep under Aidan and Aaron’s bed. He is sleeping there again tonight.
I was a little worried about our cats Jack reaction to Dozer – he has never been around dogs. Here is the email I got from Adam when I asked how things were going.
Adam: Carter and I are just hanging out. Finishing up the bean soup. Dozer chewed on the wood gate a bit downstairs when he was down there during our trip to the bank this morning. Jack is inside they have seen each other and as I am typing this jack just ran and jumped out the screen window in the dinning room, so that did not go so well. Love you very much, hope your day is going better than jacks
Jess: Is the screen broken?
Adam: No it bent and pushed it out. Very funny, he jumped in the air on the kitchen table and almost hit the ceiling ran and jumped right out the window. Carter walks over, puts his hand out the window and said uh-oh.

Kindergarten
This Thursday is Kindergarten registration and I am a mess. I got teary-eyed calling the doctors to request there shot registration to take with us. I am blogging about it now because it might be next summer before I am able to talk about the big K again. I know I have said it before, but didn’t I just bring these little guys home from the hospital???
Fetish
Carter has a stomach fetish. I thought it was just mine since the twin pregnancy left me with a little extra lovin' (stretched skin). All the boys love to play with my stomach – sorry maybe TMI. When I get out of the shower Carter wait for me, runs with hands up and says, “I touch belly”. He tries to curl his entire body up to lay on my stomach. Who knows what’s up with that!?!?!??!
We went to watch my sister Michelle cheer last week. She cheers for UofL and they did a preview of their routines for nationals. All the cheerleaders had crop tops on and I jokingly told Adam Cater was in heaven. Michelle took all the boys to sit on the floor with the cheerleaders and we stayed back it the bleachers. Michelle had to get up to do something and she handed Carter off to another cheerleader that I did not know. Before I know it Cater turns around starts rubbing her stomach. I could not go down on the floor to get him and I just wanted to die – I was so embarrassed. Guess it’s a good thing he is so darn cute – but he REALLY needs to grow out of this!!!

More pets!??!?!!?
Just to add to our craziness the Easter Bunny brought some new pets for us. The Easter Bunny was sent out for a butterfly garden but he cam home with a butterfly garden and a frog garden. Looks like Mrs. Easter bunny will have to do her own shopping next time. So we are now the proud owners of two tadpoles born March 24th. Casey and Theo – named after the Power Rangers. We almost had a serious tragedy on our hands on Saturday when carter pulled the towel from under tank and it fell off the dresser. IT happened when we were at the movies and I can only imagine the drama. Luckily a little water and the tadpoles remained in the water!!!
We are still waiting on the caterpillars. I am no hurry – one thing at a time now ☺!

Our weekend
Nan and Grammy came to visit this weekend and we jammed packed it full of fun. Friday the boys were so excited when Nan and Grammy picked them up from school with dad. Friday night we did the Chocolate Stroll in Jeff. I had to teach Jazz so we got a last start and missed some of the good ones. Saturday Nan took the boys shopping for Easter gifts (more like Christmas) and they each got a Nintendo DS. They are not big ‘gamers’ – Adam and I are not either, but you know ALL of their friends have them. They having them, but as for playing them, they could take it or leave it… fine with me!
Saturday night we went to the spaghetti factory and took a carriage horse ride. We had an early dinner and Adam and I got to go out and see Date Night. It was SUPER funny – I totally recommend it!!!

Road Trip
It was probably a good month ago now – where does time go!?!?!?!? We took a little weekend trip to Indy. This is our third time there with the boys and we love it each time just as much as the last. We did the Zoo, Children’s Museum and stayed in the water park hotel. These weekend trips are the best and most memorable. They are not big budget busters, and they do not take a lot of planning and preparation. Oftentimes when we return home from a long vacation, I need a vacation from the vacation. But not these… they are perfect and packed full of family time. It is a perfect time out from our busy schedule.
